Once Prof. KS Shin (my PhD supervisor in SNU) told all properties related to the microstructure parameters quantitatively. So formulation of corrosion rate based on microstructure parameters (grain size, texture, second phase…) was one of my important achievements during PhD. Then after PhD I defined an adventurous project to find out a formula correlating biocompatibility (cell viability and…) with microstructure. Mr Mojtaba Fatehi was a talent student in Tehran university who succeed in this amazing project. I am pretty sure this idea is a starting point for understanding and developing high performance materials like biodegradable materialis.
